Cynthia M. Hofmeister
Professional genealogist, owner of History of Family Search, researcher, lecturer, teacher, and Lafayette Family History Center specialist/consultant. She specializes in the Salt Lake Family History Library's collection, genealogical resources on the Internet and genealogical conference planning.
Ms. Hofmeister has taught a variety of genealogical classes to societies and libraries throughout the state of Louisiana and Utah. Including such classes as African American Research; Access the Worlds Largest Family History Library From Home; Shaking Females From Your Family Tree; Where Do I Begin; and Junk Genealogy… Who Needs It?, just to name a few.
She was the director/programmer for "Turning the Hearts of the Children" a well-received genealogical conference, held in Lafayette, LA. In January 2004. and is the director/ coordinator of "Preserving Your Past For the Future" a second conference being held in Lafayette this coming October 16th, 2004.
Ms. Hofmeister, is an active member of several societies, including the Association of Professional Genealogist (Louisiana chapter President), FGS and NGS Louisiana State Liaison representative, National Genealogical Society, New England Historical and Genealogical Society, The Lafayette Genealogical Society (Secretary) and a variety of other organizations.
